Romeoville Soccer is a youth soccer organization located in Romeoville, IL with recreational programs for girls and boys ages 4 1/2 to 18. Formed in 1982, we are one of the area’s most seasoned soccer program. We are privileged to serve the families of Romeoville and neighboring communities including Plainfield, Lockport, Bolingbrook, Joliet and Crest Hill. OUR PROGRAM
The AYSO year runs similar to the local school year with a fall season kicking off the new year and a spring season concluding the year. Romeoville Soccer offers programs for kids ranging from 4 1/2 to 18 years old. At this time we do not offer any programs for the winter or summer seasons. However, we often partner with our national sponsors to host a summer camp between our spring and fall seasons. If available, camp information and registration detail will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
Ideally, each core program is 10 weeks long- two preseason weeks (practice only) and 8 weeks of regular play (practice + weekly game). Field conditions (especially in the Spring) or unsafe weather can shorten our season. Please note we we do approve refunds for shortened seasons due to bad weather or field availability.
REGISTRATION
You do not need to attend an onsite registration event to complete your registration. All player registrations and payments may be completed online at REGISTER HERE. If you need assistance with the online registration system or if you are unable to access your AYSO account, we encourage you to contact the AYSO national office @ 800-872-2976. In person registration events are mainly intended for those families that:
- need to pick up uniforms (please complete online registration and payment HERE first)
- need access to a computer
- can log into their account but can’t complete registration due to some other issue
- must pay by cash or check
PAYMENT
We strongly recommend paying online as you complete your online registration. If you do not pay online, please note that the processing time for cash or check payments is approximately 2 weeks after receiving payment. During this time, the player(s) associated with the account may not:
- receive AYSO communications
- be assigned to a team
- participate in practices or games
TEAM FORMATION
Romeoville Soccer uses the Sports Connect platform to assign players to our coaches. Team formation will be completed about two and a half weeks prior to the first set of games. Coaches will then contact each family within a few days to communicate their contact information as well as practice and game schedules. We do not honor requests for specific coaches and do not transfer players due to team practice days/times. Note that players on the same account and in the same division (U8, U10 , etc.) will be assigned to the same team. We not not approve refund requests related to our team formation process.
PRACTICES
Outdoor soccer fields are available at Volunteer Park and Discovery Park in Romeoville. The village will decide which fields we may use for the season. Your coach will determine your practice day and times. Most commonly, practices are held twice a week for about an hour. This may be a bit shorter or less often for the younger divisions and sometimes a bit longer (75-90 mins) for the older divisions. Coaches may schedule practices between 5:30 and 7:30 on Monday through Thursday. The village may cancel practices due to field conditions. Romeoville Soccer may cancel practices due to unsafe weather conditions. For either situation, your coach will communicate the cancelation ASAP.
GAMES
Currently, the U6-U15 divisions play within our region meaning the teams from these divisions will play exclusively against other Romeoville Soccer teams each week on our fields. Games will be scheduled Saturday morning at 9 am or 10:30/11:00 am. Like practices, games may be canceled due to field conditions or unsafe weather and cancellations will be communicated to you by your coach. Romeoville Soccer will not reschedule cancelled games. However, the two opposing coaches may choose to schedule a make up scrimmage during available practice hours.
U19 games are played against teams from other U19 programs in our area. Games in this division may be scheduled on fields from neighboring regions (usually less than 50 minutes away but often only 20-30 minutes away). These games are mostly on Saturday and usually start before 1pm.
REFUNDS
In general, we are a no refund region. We do not process refunds for scheduling conflicts, missed/cancelled practices or games, or for general satisfaction concerns or disagreements that may arise through the course of a normal season.
If you feel you may have an exception to the above refund policy, please email us your request and an explanation why the above policy does not apply to your situation. If a refund or credit towards future play is approved, please note that national and other 3rd party fees collected during online registration are not refundable by Romeoville Soccer.
In the event a program you are registered for is cancelled due to weak enrollment, you will automatically receive a full refund from Romeoville Soccer once all distributed materials such as uniforms or fundraising items are returned.
